The 3.7-acre property was sold via Auction.com on Feb. 10 for a winning bid of $1.65 million, with the non-profit church serving as the only active bidder.
Located at 6770 Lake Ellenor Dr., the four-story office building lies within office complex Patriot Pointe at Orlando. It was formerly the headquarters and data center for Darden Restaurants, was fully vacant at time of sale, and had been promoted as "ideal for owner-users or a value-add investment strategy."
The Church of Scientology operates out of a small office in Orlando at 1830 E. Colonial Dr. Executive staff there were not available on Friday afternoon to comment on their plans for the new purchase
