In their first joint appearance in Southern California, the great grandson of L. Ron Hubbard, Jamie DeWolf, and a former Scientologist, Chris Shelton, who has written a new book on Scientology, will share their insights and unique perspectives on the besieged organization. DeWolf is a performer, filmmaker, teaching artist and vaudevillian showman from Oakland, and Shelton was a member of the Sea Organization for 17 years who wrote Scientology from A to Xenu, which will be available for sale and signing.

Jamie DeWolf

DeWolf has written and performed about his relationship with Hubbard and other socially relevant subjects both on stage and on network TV. One of his more recent appearances in Los Angeles was as part of the PBS "Snap Judgment" story-telling performance tour at the Nokia Theater. An appearance by DeWolf has been in demand for some time due to his featured Upworthy.com appearances and his candid, outspoken perception of his controversial great-grandfather. He also has shot and directed award-winning short films.

Chris Shelton

Shelton began to build a life in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area only after breaking his billion-year employment contract with the church. He has chronicled his recovery from his 27 years in Scientology on his blog, The Critical Thinker at Large, and on his YouTube channel. Shelton, an author and videographer, was raised in a family of Scientologists and joined its staff right out of high school. In 2013, he left Scientology and has been outspoken critic and anti-cult activist ever since.
