Jacobin Magazine: A Brief History of Scientology

Jacobin Magazine: A Brief History of Scientology.

What I found most interesting about the linked article is not its contents, but that it was published in Jacobin magazine, which bills itself as "a leading voice of the American left, offering socialist perspectives on politics, economics, and culture." The magazine's "About" page contains blurbs from Noam Chomsky, Jennifer Schuessler for the New York Times, Chris Hayes, and Doug Henwood.

Don't get me wrong, the essay good. It just doesn't say anything that would be new to people here.

The essay is long, thorough, and cannot properly be excerpted. I will provide only the link.
