Calling Chris Shelton

Mimsey has listened to your latest two interviews - not watched, cause I was driving, but listened via cell phone plugged into auxiliary input on car stereo and he has something important to ask:

It's obvious that there is no college course called: Cult 101 - how to be a successful leader of a cult and make millions. There is no book: Building a successful cult for Dummies. There is no cassette tape series: The Master of Illusion - building the perfect cult in 10 easy lessons...

You both were talking about how people are social and the cult leaders manipulate this, they get people to shun or harm others etc. by characterizing or labeling the unwanted person ( such as calling them vermin, PTS, DBs etc) and around that point she said something about narcissists being that way. It made me wonder about cult leaders in general. Then it struck me, what's with their similarity? If it's not something they learned, then why are they virtually clones? Why do they operate in the same fashion?

Why then do they walk the same walk, talk the same talk?

I am going to give you my answer and I'd like to know A) your thoughts and B) have you ever asked these shrinks you are interviewing that question?

I think they are (for want of a better word) dramatizing how they look at people, and life in general. So, they tell you, the cultie, that you must view and deal with people the way they them themselves do. And in doing so, you can have a fine career as and OSA operative, disconnect from your family, reg people and take away their retirement money, on and on, to the leaders benefit. It's as if they tell you how to not have a conscience, because they, sociopaths that they are, don't have one.

What do you think? Would that explain their cookie cutter modus operandi?

Mimsey
