Hello, I'm finally here

I was sucked in to it all when living in the Dallas area in 1993. I fell for the "join staff and receive your training/auditing free" pitch. Married with two youngsters, I thought my instant Cope Officer role would be what I needed to get back into the workforce. The experience was both captivating and unsettling. My husband yanked me out by leaving his job and insisting we move back out of state to our home. I was lavishly coated in guilt and anxiously did the routing off. Though I took some of my one-year experience with me, it faded over time. Several moves later, and thanks to the Post Office's forwarding service, the church never left me alone. In 2011 I had gotten sick of the junk mail, and contacted their "mailing department", to be smugly condescended to NOT be removed from their list. My husband had passed, my children grown and gone, I moved once more, this time with no forwarding address, in hopes to ditch them. Here is where I am confessing what I really don't want to confess: a year and a half later, they contacted me by phone, totally controlled the conversation, messed with my logic and I bought in to the "New" program. Then they proceeded to manipulate my desires into paying my "freeloader" fee, purchase expensive services: the pre-requisite Purif and subsequent Survival RD, as well as buying the WHOLE congress/lecture/ACC's materials; with instant pressure to continue on irregardless of the fact that I have repeatedly told them I've emptied my retirement account. (Sorry, long sentence...)

I am still on their books as an active Scientologist, who needs to return for a tech assessment. I went in a few weeks ago to stop them from calling me to come in, but I'm done. I'm ashamed to admit to my children that I've spent my future security on this, and to admit to my now boyfriend that my "personal counseling" was the cost of a new car.

I'm here to get good information on how to stop the onslaught. I need peace.

Hello, Don't mind me. Don't get up...I'm no one.

Hello,

I"m a LONG time reader of this great site and The Bunker. I introduced myself a very long time ago with a different sign in that I can't seem recall. lol I don't think I posted much at all but am a habitual reader. I wanted to ask a few questions but didn't want to get the cart in front of the horse, so I thought I'd say "hello" once again. Thanks!

Hello, I'm Chloe

Hi!

I'm Chloe and I just registered to be able to interact with you. I study at a university college, am 22 years old, love travelling and eating chocolate. I'm not an ex-SCN, but I have the feeling that I could use this forum. I'm not a native English speaker, but I try my best ;)

Almost 7 months ago I started a research about Scientology for a friend. He writes a thesis about Scn and compares the information given to researchers with the information given to new members or people who are interested. Along with a few others was I allowed to this. I was really excited about this. I care deeply about people and was curious what might lead to joining Scn and what benefits this could give to people. Especially since there is a lot of controversy about this 'religion'. Every one of us got a different role. My role is the skeptical person that wants to join to help others, but only if there is evidence. I went a few times to an Org, helped with the anti drugs campaign, read Dianetics and starte

Hello

Hi everyone, I'm new to the board but have been lurking a little so I thought I'd introduce myself. My involvement with Scientology was relatively short but quite eventful. When I was about 9 years old, my mother began dating a man who was very deeply involved with Scientology. He soon dragged her into it and within a few months, my older sister and I were dragged along with her. I started my first course and didn't really understand what I was doing nor what the point the was. My sister excelled while I just sort of sat back and questioned everything. And well, lets face it, I was 9. I wasn't interested in sitting in a room for several hours a week, until well past 10pm, reading and doing ridiculous exercises.
I always seemed to be in trouble! I was often pulled aside and told how disrespectful I was for asking questions and was often locked in a cupboard to 'reflect' on my behaviour. This continued on for a couple years and my mother and sister got in deeper and deeper. Her boyfriend would often preach to us about all the great things Scientology did and would tell us stories about all his past lives. We'd often undergo touch assists instead of going to the doctors when something was actually seriously wrong.
Then one day, we were pulled out of school and went to stay on the Freewinds while my mums boyfriend did his OTVIII. My mum and sister continued to study on the ship and I, who thought of it more as a vacation, continued to get in trouble and locked up for reflection and auditing.
Unfortunately, my memory gets a little foggy after this. My sister was recruited by SeaOrg and my mum began to get suspicious of what was really going on. My mum finally wised up and left her boyfriend, who at that point was getting quite abusive. She pulled us both out of the church and so began the harassment. We had people coming to our home at all hours, phone calls and my sister was even visited at her school. We moved and they eventually gave up on us.
As an adult, I used to often look back and wonder if I made all of it up, as it was such a bizarre time in my life. I've been researching Scientology for a couple years now to jog my memory of it all. I look back on it now and realise how lucky I was to have got out when I did.

So anyways, that's me in a nutshell. Hi :)

Hello, and a little bit of my story

Can I cross post some of this from another forum? I suddenly realized I needed to get this out and, after 25 years, talk to other people who were there, either at Flag or in the SO anywhere else in the world. People who understand. So, let me know if it's not OK to cross post this from another site.

Hello everyone. It is so good to know that a forum for people like us exists.

About me: I've been out of the Sea Org since the mid-90s, but it took me years to even be able to think about it, much less talk about it. I got in as a teenager, and was later joined by my dad. We did the EPF at Flag, and although we were supposed to be going somewhere else we ended up staying (mostly due to my mom and her custody agreement). Over time, I also did full time training in LA. (My mind is fuzzy on details and I forget the name of the building. It was at Hollywood and Ivar.) Eventually, due to threatened legal action from my mom for being out of state without her knowing, I was sent away until I turned 18. I tried to come back, kinda freaked out, and eventually blew. My dad routed out at some point later and became public. When he left from that he had a TON of intimidation and legal trouble.

I started googling and searching yesterday because I had a dream about my boyfriend in the SO. I googled him last night, and found his name mentioned on a thread in another form.. I thought maybe it was time to talk about everything. Maybe even find people who were there at the same time?

I'm sorry this is choppy, I keep editing out lines of details, afraid that after all this time there might be someone lurking that would give me a hard time. All these years and I'm still paranoid. Thanks, SO!
